Professor Wilfried Le Goff PhD

Doctor Wilfried Le Goff is the head of the SLIM research team at the Institute of Cardiometabolism and Nutrition (ICAN) – INSERM UMR_S1166 laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine of Sorbonne Université in Paris. He is also Delegate Vice-Dean Research of the Faculty of Medicine of Sorbonne University in Paris, France.

Born in France, he received his PhD in Physiology and Physiopathology in 2002 and the French accreditation to supervise research from the University Pierre and Marie Curie, Paris, France. After a postdoctoral internship at the Cleveland Clinic (OHIO, USA), he was recruited at the French INSERM institute in 2005.

His research focuses on the study of systemic and cellular lipid metabolism in cardiometabolic diseases, including obesity, diabetes, NAFLD and ASCVD, as well as in autoimmune and rare disorders associated with alterations of lipid metabolism (https://recherche-cardiovasculaire-metabolique.fr/). Among his contributions in the field, his translational research led to the identification of the important role of ABCG1 in obesity and associated disorders.
