What do the OSLER and ODYSSEY studies really show?

According to PCSK9 Forum Editor Professor Derick Raal, University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa two urgent questions remain.

Does this substantial LDL cholesterol lowering with PCSK9 monoclonal antibody therapy translate to reduction in cardiovascular outcomes in high cardiovascular risk patients? And are the PCSK9 inhibitors safe?

CASCADE FH: Unmet needs in education about familial hypercholesterolaemia

Education, education, education......

Only about 50% of patients understood the risks of their condition.

Treatment was also suboptimal in nearly one-half of patients in the registry.
